PLAYGROUND INSPECTION SPECIFICATIONS

An Inspection is a periodic report focusing on the over-all playground condition and identifying apparent hazards. Hazards are classified according to their likelihood to cause an injury.

An Inspection shall include the following:

  • An inventory of play equipment
  • A description of surface material
  • A summary of the general site condition
  • Report of structural stability of upright support posts
  • An evaluation of the appropriateness of the depth and type of surfacing for the type and fall height of the play equipment.
  • An evaluation of the use zone around the equipment
  • Identification and classification of all apparent hazards
  • Recommendations for corrective action

The company performing the Inspection shall have the following qualifications:

  • Inspectors shall have CPSI Certification from the National Playground Safety Institute
  • General Liability Insurance of at least $2,000,000

If requested, the Company performing the Inspection must be able to provide their customer with a certificate of insurance naming the customer as “Certificate Holder” at no additional charge.

STANDARD OF QUALITY

For the purpose of establishing a standard of quality for the work specified herein, the Inspection shall be as conducted by Playground Medic of Hawthorne, NY. 1-866-332-3133 (toll free) or other companies providing a similar service that have the credentials stated above.
